          Paving a path for women in unconventional careers constitutes much of Louise Woerner’s life’s work.

          As chairman and CEO of HCR, a health services firm, Woerner demonstrates her belief that the norm does not have to be the standard way of doing business.
          “I’ve been a leader for women in non-traditional careers, to let women know there are a lot of options,” Woerner says.

          “I remember my mother said the world would be a different place for me, and today women should see that.”
          Woerner stepped out of the groove for most women of her time by earning her B.S. degree in business administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, in 1964 and then her MBA from the University of Chicago a year later.
