Swaroop Sampat
Indian actress (born 1958)
Swaroop Rawal (née Sampat; born 3 November 1958) is an Indian actress and beauty pageant titleholder who has acted in several Hindi language films.
She is known for her roles in the films Naram Garam and Nakhuda (both released in 1981) and is known for her performance in television serials like Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (1984). She started her career as a model and won the title of Femina Miss India Universe 1979 and represented India at Miss Universe 1979 pageant.[citation needed].[1][2]
Early life and education
Swaroop was born to Bachu Sampat, an actor associated with Gujarati theatre, and Dr Mrudula Sampat, a surgical oncologist.[3] She belongs to a Bhatia family.[4]
During her college days, apart from studying sciences, she would act in theatre plays, such as a Gujarati adaptation of Peter Shaffer's Equus, during which she'd eventually meet her future husband Paresh R
